Why Love Eddy?
(and how it came to be)
First off, I just wanted to say that I love animated characters in some of the strangest ways, especially on how I love Eddy. Throughout my life, my love-life at least, were always dedicated to cartoon/anime characters on TV, and I've really never "loved" (what you might call) a "real-life" boyfriend; I just fell in love with animation, and Eddy is the center of it, and this is why and how . . .
There is no "definite" reason on why my love goes so strongly to Eddy. I think it's (I hope Eddy won't hate this) his shortness (I have a weakness for short people). Or possibly it's my sympathy for knowing his stat on being a "Fave-Ed" (not very high). Possibly, it's because I've seen a lot of shrines for Double Dee, with very little Eddy ones, and I decided to help even it out. But whatever the reason is, I love Eddy.
There's always a story about how someone falls in love, and some come in weird ways. My love story about how I came to love Eddy is probably the weirdest, and it goes like this . . .
When Ed, Edd n Eddy first premiered, I became an instant fan of the show. Ironically, I didn't have a favorite character yet. But I still enjoyed the show itself.
It wasn't until the late spring of 2000, that I started to have a favorite character from the show, and it's (you guessed it) Eddy. But it doesn't end just there. My favorite stats changed in a short time.
After about two weeks after I liked Eddy for the first time, I started to like Double Dee. And I came to like Double Dee after playing a game on Cartoon Network's site (Cartoon Cartoon Resort). I thought Eddy would be in it, since Double Dee was there, but he wasn't, so I started to like Double Dee as I played the game more. I told you I love animated characters for the strangest reasons.
From that point, I started to love Double Dee, making Eddy go to 2nd place to me. And this all lasted for about a year; from summer of 2000 to summer of 2001.
As many Eds fans know, Double Dee hosts CCF sometimes, and I always watched him host (even now). But on June 8, 2001, there were 2 new CCF hosts - Ed and Eddy. I still liked Eddy at the time, so I watched him and Ed host CCF. After that night, I started to love Eddy again. One thing was, that I still liked Double Dee, so I stayed in a denial stage for a while (a couple days).
I don't know exactly why, but I played a little "prank" on this one Message Board I know - the YesterdayLand Ed, Edd n Eddy Message Board. This prank was that I love Eddy now. It started around late-June or early-July, and it lasted for a long time. Everyone seemed to have fallen for it. During that time, I kept saying, "I love Eddy!," and posting stuff up, etc. I ended the prank on April 1, 2002, April Fools' Day (I thought that would be funny to end).
After I said that loving Eddy was a prank, I still felt a loving feeling for Eddy; even more than when I had started. It's like I had actually fallen in love with him. And from that point on, I just wanted to express my love for him in a way. So I made this little shrine site . . . just for him.
What can I say?
I just LOVE the little animated guy!!!
